Requirements
The requirements of this school are different and it depends on the course you have. Applicants to Royal Holloway can come from a diverse range of backgrounds and they accept a broad range of qualifications to their courses.
Each applicant is considered carefully on their individual merits, however, they do publish a range of minimum entry requirements and typical offers to help guide prospective students.
The minimum requirements are as follows:
GCE AS and A2-Levels
We require A-level students to pass three subjects, with each course expecting different grades, which you can check using our course finder|.
The grades given are the minimum required and you may find your offer is higher than those given.
International Baccalaureate
Many students in the UK and overseas take the International Baccalaureate (IB) and we welcome any of you who have taken the IB Diploma.
Each course sets its own minimum IB offer, which you can check on our course finder.|
Scottish Advanced Highers
If you’re studying the Scottish Advanced Highers, you’re expected to achieve at least three passes.
Grades required will vary by department and can be found on the UCAS course listing|.
GCSEs
At least five GCSE passes at grades A* to C, including Maths and English, is expected from all students.
If you are applying to study at Royal Holloway and your first language is not English, you are required to provide evidence of your English language proficiency.
If your Enligh isn’t good enough after finishing the test there is a course to get on the right level of the English language.
