History

 

The school was founded as the Northampton Institute in 1894. The school became a university when The City University was created by Royal Charter in 1966. The school was able to provide education to the local population of England. The school offered a lot of different courses. The first departments they established were mechinical Engineeering, Metal Trades, Artistic Crafts for Industry, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, Horology, Electro-Chemistry and Domestic Economics. The school has achieved their “acadamic exellence” status.
